Wind Museum Utamarokan

Kaze no Hakubutsukan (Wind Museum)

A museum in the Hijikawa area, known as 'windy county' (kaze stands for wind in Japanese). With the motto 'wind from the heart', the museum displays educational materials, a scientific collection and artefacts that humans have created, related to wind and indispensable for daily life. By "seeing, playing, and touching", visitors might be able to widen their perception and understanding on winds and how they impact in our life.

Utamarokan (Ukiyo-e museum)

At Utamarokan, the world of ukiyo-e is revealed through the display of Utamaro original woodblocks, unexpectedly found in a nearby farm house. Complementing this unique material, an exhibit introduces the history of ukiyo-e and their creation process. Furthermore, visitors will find a reproduction of the 'Tsutaya Koshodo' shop, that sponsored and introduced Utamaro to the world. A remarkable collection of woodprints rounds off everything.
