Located on Mt. Kagura, in the eastern part of Ozu's old district, this venerable shrine has been revered by generations of locals or castle lords. It was conceived as the general guard of this area when Ozu Castle was originally erected in 1331, and has been watching over since then. The views of the town and the castle from its crest are breathtaking. By the main pavilion there is a stone statue of the god Ebisu, protecting the temple grounds. Every year from January 9 to 11, the "10-day Ebisu Festival" is held, attracting many worshippers.
