Kita Management, Ozu's DMO, has been charged to coordinate local urban & community development (machitsukuri) aiming to transcend languages and borders based on sustainable tourism principles. Visitors can learn about the origins of the town and regeneration efforts. A wide variety of programs utilizing local resources are on offer.
In addition to content that makes use of cultural assets and historical buildings designated by Ozu City, we also propose travel arrangements and special travel plans that are closely tied to the local community. Through interactions with local people, visitors can get a close look to the local way of life.
The fragile nature of the city and sustainability commitments make it appropriate to propose mainly travel products for individual travelers, but programs for corporate training and MICE also exists. We create customized programs according to the itinerary and objectives of our customers and travel agents, so please feel free to contact us.</span>
Ozu was selected among the 2022 Green Destinations Top 100 sustainable tourist destinations for its urban regeneration efforts. Thereafter, during the 2023 'Green Destinations Story Awards' at ITB Berlin, those efforts were further awarded 1st place in the 'Culture and Tradition' category, making it the first time a Japanese destination was recognized with such honours.
