About 'Machi no Eki Asamoya'
Asamoya is a local shop located in the central Ozu. It works with local farmers and merchants, offering them an opportunity to display their products. These items make for a perfect Ozu souvenir. Asamoya's piping hot jakokatsu, (dried young sardines paste) fried to order, is a masterpiece. One of the essential facilities for a trip to Ozu.

Nyohoji Temple is an imposing Rinzai sect compound founded by Yasuoki Kato, the second lord of Ozu domain. Wearing Samue, you can perform zazen meditation and tea ceremony in a quiet place not far away from the city centre. This time of self-reflection may be a truly regenerative experience.

The final chapter of the trip is spent in Nagahama, by the Seto Inland Sea. After about 20 minutes train trip (from Ozu Station), you will reach Nagahama Station, filled with the scent of sea. We recommend taking a walk around its old shopping street, where many cultural properties can be enjoyed (including the Nagahama Bridge or rich merchant's abodes). Lunch might offer another opportunity to enjoy local flair: seafood caught at Nagahama Port, among which, tiger blowfish or hamo, local specialties.
