About Ozu

Ozu City is located in the western part of Shikoku, in a region known as Nanyo. Centered around the Ozu Basin, the city stretches from the Seto Inland Sea in the north to the Shikoku Mountains in the south.
At its heart flows the pristine Hiji River, curving through the town like an elbow—true to its name's origin. This meandering river has blessed the region with abundant natural beauty, historical treasures, and local specialties. Once a thriving castle town during the Edo period, the spirit of its prosperous past still lingers along the riverbanks.

Getting to Ozu
Ozu, is located in the Nanyo region of southern Ehime Prefecture.
The clear stream of the Hiji River flows gracefully in the city center, where a picturesque castle-town still populates its banks.
Centered around the carefully restored Ozu Castle, the town traces its history more than 400 years ago, back to the Senkoku period. 
From the riverside area in the mountains to the Nagahama area facing the Seto Inland Sea,
Diverse cultures take root. Japan also famous for "Ozu Ukai", which is counted as one of the three major Cormorant fishing (ukai).
